Definitely Not The Majors was one more in the long line of incredible compilation cds that came out in the 90s. This comp showcases some of the best heavy bands that hardcore had to offer in that era. At the time that this came out, all of the songs were reputed to be unreleased.

I have this compilation and the Ascension song is amazing. I mean, all the songs are, but that one always stood out to me. They were one of the few bands on the compilation that I hadn't heard prior to buying it.

Just came across your site...good stuff!

I used to have this comp too but got rid of it long ago. Stupid!

I used to have the Ascension EP but lost it(don't remeber what it was called but there was a lot of red on the cover). Someone should post that if they have it because it was hard as nails! Last year I found the Ascension full-length, which I didn't even know they had released one, and I was highly disappointed by it. But the EP on the other hand...

I was actually planning on doing an Ascension post sometime soon.

The Drummer from Ascension now plays in an indie rock band in Cleveland. I used to work at the place where the guitarst works as a designer.

this is a good comp! i still pull it out and rock it. i know this one came out in 200, but how about one that was put out by brainwash records called scene preservation. that was a good one too!

yo Justin,
Starkweather is playing in SLC on Dec. 6th.
i think Starkweather had the best song on the DNTM comp.

Not to be a pain in the ass, but any word on that Ascension post? I'd love to hear the rest of their material.
